Bengaluru: Final rites of Abhishek Bhat, who was shot dead on the Thanks Giving Day was performed by his family members in a mutt in Phoenix city. It was performed by a team of Vedic scholars from a nearby mutt.
Only family members of the Abhishek, and his friends from the University attended the final rites. The California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) extended the guest house facilities for the family from Mysuru in India. Meanwhile, the university authorities decided to confer MS degree to deceased Abhishek based on his previous academic performance as an honor.
Abhishek, who was pursuing his MS in Computer Science at the CSUSB was shot dead, on November 27 in a motel where he was doing a part time job. Local police arrested Eric Devon Turner who shot at Abhishek.
A resident of Kuvempunagar in Mysuru, Abhishek had moved to California for his post-graduation course around two years ago. He had four months left to complete his Master’s Degree.
