Exclusive website for Zoo Authority of Karnataka

Mysuru: To provide detailed information about the Zoo Authority of Karnataka’s (ZAK) various developmental programs including about nine zoos which are scattered across the state, ZAK will be coming out with an exclusive website. It will enable public to know about various developmental works of ZAK.

Speaking to Newskarnataka, B P Ravi, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Member Secretary of ZAK said, “On the lines of Mysuru zoo website, we have come out with an exclusive website for ZAK. After nearly two months, we have come out with this website after taking feedback from our zoo directors and other officers concern. It also has a brief history about how and when ZAK came into existence.” It also provides information about volunteer programmes where the volunteers visit the zoo regularly on their own and extend assistance in conducting educational programmes besides taking lead role in educating the students. It has also got attractive videos.

The website will have all information about conservation, adoption, education and events. The website www.zoosofkarnataka.com is expected to be officially launched by Tourism Minister S R Mahesh in a couple of days. Access to ZAK’s social media handles Facebook, Twitter and Instagram will also be provided.
