Mysuru: A fusion folk dance programme involving folk dance troupes from Lithuania in Europe and Karnataka, collectively organised by Indian Council of Cultural Research (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, Articulated Festival – Mysuru, Vidyavikas Educational institutions mesmerised the audience at Premier studio auditorium.
Folk dance troupes from Lithuania danced to showcase their folk culture drawing inspiration from animals like bears and goats whereas artistes from Karnataka resorted to Adi–Dravidian culture form to exhibit their talent. The group from Europe drew wide appreciation from the select audience for their wide-ranging costumes, music and dance whereas the children of local civil workers danced into articulation.
The efforts put in by the dance troupes from Lithuania in general and Karnataka in special, revived the folk culture ingrained in Indian system of living for ages.
