Mysuru: To keep a check on the expenditure during Kannada Sahithya Sammelana, Deputy Commissioner D Randeep has constituted an estimate committee. Before releasing money to the committees concerned, the estimate committee will go through it and based on their recommendation, the money will be sanctioned.

To bring more transparency during forthcoming Kannada Sahithya Samelana which is being held after 27 years in Mysuru, DC Randeep has constituted estimate committee who will get expenditure estimates of all the departments or committees and later will approve or sanction the money. “For this Sammelana, we are expecting to get Rs 8 Crore”, he said.

“If people approach with my letter, the private firms if they are interested to contribute may do so. It is not compulsory. Action will be taken against those found approaching private firms without my letter. For financial assistance from private firms, the Joint Director of Industry has been entrusted the responsibility. For the Kannada Sahithya Sammelana, the district administration is doing the coordination role. The finance will be routed through us and if more officials are required we will provide”, he added.
