Mysuru: The Election Commission’s surveillance squads and police officials have seized over Rs 50 Lakh unaccounted cash from KSRTC bus, during checks in view of the coming assembly elections in Karnataka.
Police during checks on a KSRTC bus at Manuganahalli check-post on Mysore-Hunsur stretch of state highway found Rs 50 Lakh cash, in Rs 2000 and Rs 500 currency denominations. The police have been conducting further inquiries to find the money source.
With the model code of conduct in force, police check-posts have been set up in various parts of the state amidst ongoing seizures of alleged freebies in the state.
