Dr Latha Rajashekar’s book ‘Sri Rama Maha Darshana’ and 4 others released in a unique manner

Mysuru: The books were mammoth in size. Interestingly, the books were also carried by mammoth sized elephants. It was a different way of unveiling books which was written in the history books. Renowned litterateur Dr Latha Rajashekar’s book ‘Sri Rama Maha Darshana’ along with other four books, Buddha Maha Darshana, Yesu Maha Darshana, Basava Maha Darshana, Mahaveera Maha Darshana were unveiled in Kalamandira on Wednesday.

In a programme organised by Mysuru Zilla Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Kalpavruksha trust, Akshila Sharana Sahithya Parishat, Sri Digambara Jain Samaj, Padma Shri Jain Mahila Samaja, Vivekananda Education Institution, Janachetana Trust the books were unveiled in a unique style by carrying them on an elephant.

Unveiling the books Padma Bhushan awardee Darmadarshi of Dharmasthala, Dr D Veerendra Hegde said, “In an era where the ancient Indian tradition and literature is merely observed, the works of Latha Rajashekar have inspired many readers to enjoy reading the ancient literature.”
Speaking about the books he said, “Classical songs or literature are eternal and now whatever music we are listening to come and go. The works of Latha are exceptional and can make the reader to sit for hours together.”

“Latha should be awarded for her works which can boost her morale to write more books. Awards are such motivating tonics,” he said.
Veerendra Hegde gifted a silver pen to Latha Rajshekar on the occasion.

Prior to it, State president of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike T A Narayanagowda flagged off the rally which carried five books. The folk dances and traditional colourful dances brought the glimpse of celebration.

Speaking about the book, litterateur Dr Gurulinga Kapase, said, “in her book Sri Rama Maha Darshana comparing it to the works of Kuvempu’s Sri Ramayana Darshanam, she has maintained such quality and at some instances she has made it more contemporary.”

He also requested her to write Gandhi Maha Darshana which is very much required for the present world.
