Mysuru: It is a double delight for Bengaluru North as they emerged champions in both boys and girls section in the state level pre university basketball tournament organized by Department of Pre University, Mysuru in association with Mysuru Central PU College at University of Mysore basketball ground here on Thursday.
In the boys section, in the keenly contested finals, Bengaluru North boys who held their nerve to the very last second managed to register five points victory over compatriot Bengaluru South team. In the first half, Bengaluru North scored 29 points while Bengaluru south managed 24 points. In the second half, Bengaluru North and Bengaluru South added 20 points each; Bengaluru North took their total tally to 49 points while Bengaluru South was short by five points (44). For Bengaluru North Prajwal Shetty scored 14 points while for Bengaluru South Preetham scored 14 points.
In the girls section, Bengaluru North registered comfortable 38-12 win over Bengaluru South. In the first half, Bengaluru North scored 19 points while Bengaluru south girls managed just 8 points. Later in the second half, Bengaluru North girls added 19 more points to take their tally to 38 points while Bengaluru south girls added just four points to take their tally to 12 points. For Bengaluru North, KB Harshitha and Aishwarya scored 19 and 8 points respectively while for Bengaluru South Dhatri scored 6 points.
