Mysuru: The government will work towards developing the quality of education in government schools and colleges, said Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education, IT and BT Minister C N Ashwath Narayan.

He visited the Maharani Arts College and made provisions to construct a much-needed compound wall bordering the campus. “The students here will be provided with all the basic amenities that ensure their full protection and well-being,” he said.

Narayan added, “The city of Mysuru has secured a good position in the field of education. Several of the city’s colleges are in need of further development. They are facing problems involving toilets, canteens and libraries. I always prioritise developing colleges and improving the quality of education.”

“There is an idea to connect colleges with IT and BT companies. That way, the students will be able to secure a job right after their graduation,” he stated.

Meanwhile, as he was inspecting the college infrastructure, the minister noticed a library that had been shut down for several years and gathered information about it from the college principal. He then proposed that the library be reopened as soon as possible.

MLA L Nagendra, leaders Manjunath and Shivanna, along with the college principal and other faculty members, were present.
