Mysuru: With the recognition that the annual state level Dasara sports has received, not only the prize money has increased but the facilities for all the participants too have improved a lot.
Earlier the participants were give accommodation at choultries where they didn’t have proper facilities but now all of them are being accommodated in reputed hotels. Nearly 4500 participants have been accommodated in 32 reputed hotels across the city. Apart from this, they are also getting quality food with proper arrangements. There is also more discipline among the participants.
Speaking to Newskarnataka, K Suresh, Assistant Director, DYES Mysuru, said, “The participants are happy with the recognition for Dasara sports. Especially the hike in prize money has really motivated many promising sports persons. Now those who secure first, second and third place in the individual event will be given a cash award of Rs 12,000, Rs 6,000 and Rs 3000 respectively while for the group events, those who secure first, second and third will get cash prizes of Rs 40,000, 25,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively. Earlier, there used to be complaints with regard to accommodation but now we have not received any complaints.
