Mysuru: The logo of the Dasara Food Mela (Aahara Mela)-2017 was released by Deputy Commissioner D Randeep at his office here on August 24. However, the Hotel Owners Association is opposed to Dasara Aahara Mela to be held at three different venues.
Following the growing popularity of the Dasara Food Mela, this year the Dasara Committee has decided to organise it at three different places-Scouts and Guides Ground, MUDA Ground near Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel and at the ground near Sathagalli KSRTC Bus Terminal. The decision was taken to meet the demand and decongest the city centre.
Hoteliers oppose:
The hoteliers are opposed to the decision of conducting Food Mela at three venues. At a meeting held at the DC’s office, the Mysore City Hotel Owners’ Association President Narayana Gowda opposed the move and said the decision of conducting the mela at three venues will adversely affect the business of hoteliers across the city.
