Mysuru: Mysuru Deputy Commissioner D Randeep held meetings with the police officials in the district to strictly enforce the model code of conduct in the district during Nanajanagud by-elections.
He instructed police officials to maintain peace and transparency in the high voltage by-polls to prevent untoward incidents.
He asked police officials to setup 15 check points to keep vigil on the movement of liquor and educate hotel and bar owners on the model code of conduct.
The election code of conduct is already in force in the taluk, effective March 9, the day poll dates were announced.
He told the officials to oversee poll booth and security arrangements and setup control rooms to ensure peaceful by-polls and informed them to take strict action against anti social elements including those trying to lure voters with freebies.
