Mysuru: The Covid-19 pandemic will take the sheen out of the world famous Mysuru Dasara as the government has already decided to keep the celebration low-key.

As per the decision taken by the state government only 2,000 persons will be allowed to participate in the Jamboo Savari.

Adding to this, the Jamboo Savari will cover less than one kilometer distance with just five elephants instead of 12.

All those wanting to participate in the Jamboo Savari must undergo Covid-19 tests five days in advance and produce the Covid-19 certificate.

Inaugural event will have 250 participants, and for the palace cultural events only 1,000 people will be allowed.

Decision to limit the participants was taken due to huge spike in the Covid-19 cases in the Mysuru city.
