Mysuru: A cop who requested for two-day leave after he was bitten by a stray dog, was outrightly slammed and was forced to be on duty patrolling international peace ambassador Dalai Lama.

ASI DR Jayaswamy reporting to Bettadapura Police Station in Piriyapattana, while on duty to provide security to Dalai Lama during the latter’s visit to Bailukappe, was bitten by a stray dog on his hand and leg. Unable to bear the pain, Jayaswamy requested his higher authority to grant him two-day leave. However, the senior official is said to have told Jayaswamy to focus on his duty rather than the wounds and that he cannot be granted leave.

Jayaswamy lamented that the words of his senior hurt him more than the dog bites.
