CM inaugurates Indira canteens in Mysuru, 5500 people to benefit everyday

Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the much said and awaited Indira Canteen in Mysuru here on January 12. He officially inaugurated the facility at CADA office premise here on January 12. Everyday at an average, more than 5500 people will benefit from 11 Indira canteens which are spread across prominent places in the city.

The eleven canteens have been set up in CADA office premise, K R Hospital premise, KSRTC bus stand, near Chamarajapuram railway station, PKTB hospital premise on KRS road, Highway Circle, Azeez Sait Nagar, Dr. Rajkumar road, T Narasipur road junction near Allanahalli, near Sewage Farm in Vidyaranyapuram and N R Mohalla. Corporation will be running these canteens.

Breakfast will be served for Rs 5 and lunch and dinner for Rs 10; in each session around 500 people will be served. Breakfast will commence from 7 AM while lunch and dinner will be available from 12 noon and dinner from 7 PM onwards. The canteens have been set up where public movements are more. In each canteen, apart from cleaning staff, 8 to 9 members will be working. Corporation Health Officer Dr. Nagaraj will be visiting each canteen to monitor cleanliness.

Food to these canteens will be supplied from two centralised kitchens located near PKTB Sanitorium and Allanahalli.
