Mysuru: The valedictory program of the centenary celebrations of University of Mysore was a perfect platform for many academicians and political heavyweights to express their views. At the same time it also gave bitter political opponents in the state, former PM HD Devegowda and CM Siddramaiah a chance to shake hands and greet each other which was well appreciated by the audience present on the occasion.
After addressing the gathering, former PM HD Devegowda moved towards the dignitaries seated on the dais. He greeted everyone and when he approached the state CM, it was Siddramaiah who got up and shook hands. That moment caught the attention of the huge audience who appreciated the gesture of state’s tall leaders by applauding.
Vice President of India Hamid Ansari delivered an impressive valedictory address in the program chaired by State Governor, Vajubhai vala who is also the chancellor of University of Mysore. Vice chancellor, KS Rangappa, UGC Chairman, Ved Prakash, District in charge and PWD minister, H Mahadevappa and Higher education minister Basavaraj Rayareddy were present on the occasion.
