Every month second Saturday, the club conducts a programme and it was on one such occasion that Anup Dayanand Sadhu attracted many people including Purushatham, producer of MMCH, with his melodious voice. Like internet sensation from Madhya Pradesh, Sanjeev Shrivastav, the professor who became popular for dancing to Bollywood actor Govinda’s song, Anup to rose to fame. After seeing his talent, Purushotham, producer of MMCH Kannada movie gave him a chance to sing in the movie. After a memorable debut, Anup has received four more offers including one from Shivarajkumar. During his free time, he is devoting time to music. Presently, he is working as the Group General Manager in Container Corporation of India, Bengaluru.

Speaking to Newskarnataka, Anup Dayanand, who during in his tenure as SDCM of Mysuru division for four years had taken up many passenger-friendly initiatives said, “While I was studying in Ramakrishna Vidyashala in Mysuru, they motivated and encouraged me in music. To start with, I was very good in Tabla and even played for Hindustani music legend Pandit Bhimsen Joshi. Later, after seeing the singers, I felt motivated and started to sing. From, 1999 to 2009, due to my studies and work, I couldn’t concentrate more on music. But when I got transferred to Mysuru as SDCM, I got the opportunity to sing during our doctors’ meets and railway functions. It was in Chamundi Railway Club in Mysuru that I made my singing debut. After I got transferred to Bengaluru in 2013, I joined the Snehaloka Karaoke Club. During our monthly programmes (every second Saturday) in the club which was a big platform for me, I used to sing and get a lot of appreciation from my friends. After seeing my singing in the club, Purushotham gave me an offer to sing for his MMCH movie. There was a lot of appreciation for my debut song which in turn also fetched me offers in four more movies. Singing in movies is purely a hobby for me and definitely not a commercial venture. Now all my free time apart from official work is being utilised for learning music. My future aspiration is to release a music album of my own in Kannada.”

His wife Rebecca Dayanand is also good at singing. Everyday Anup Dayanand dedicates two hours for music. Before getting into civil services, Anup Dayanand who has done MBBS and MD in Neuropsychiatry from NIMHANS had worked as a neuropsychiatrist there for three years.
