CISF to take over RBI township security

Mysuru: In the wake of robbery cases reported at RBI residential campus, a township which is under the care of private security personnel. Now the Central Industrial Security Force which is guarding Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Private Limited and Bank Note Paper Mill India Private Limited at RBI campus which is spread across more than 350 acres is all set to take over even RBI Township security as well.

A couple of robbery cases in the high security RBI campus at Metagalli raised many eyebrows but in reality, the whole RBI campus including the township was not manned by CISF. Hence after the robbery cases reported in the township of the campus, CISF is all set to take over the security here which also includes the residential campus.

Manjit Kumar, Deputy Commandant, Central Industrial Security Force, Mysuru unit said, “After robbery cases were reported in the RBI residential campus, the security has been tightened. The residential quarters was under private security guards. Now the CISF which guards Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Private Limited which prints currency notes and Bank Note Paper Mill India Private Limited which manufactures paper for currencies will pitch in. We will withdraw nearly 50 private security personnel make way for CISF security. Apart from deploying nearly 100 CISF personnel in the campus we will have 13 watch towers and the parameter wall will be strengthened.”

At present, Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Private Limited has deployed 345 CISF personnel while 110 of them are manning the Bank Note Paper Mill India Private Limited. In few days’ time, to strengthen the security 100 more personnel will be added.
