Mysuru: Chamundi Hill temple priest who kept on keeping Mangalarathi plate on top of the offering box was suspended by Deputy Commissioner D Randeep who is also the Administrative Officer and head of Disciplinary Committee of Chamundeshwari Temple.

D Randeep said, “Even after repeated warnings, priest N Srinivasan used to keep on blocking the offering box by keeping his Mangalarathi plate and indirectly forcing the devotees to offer to Mangalarathi plate which also may lead to the loss of revenue to the temple. All his misdeeds have also been recorded in CCTV and there were also complaints from devotees. After going through all these activities we suspended him.”

There is a separate place to keep Mangalarathi plate but Srinivasan acted otherwise and even used to block devotees from having darshan.
