Celebrate Dasara with more grandeur: CM Kumarswamy

Mysuru: Due to good rainfall this year, Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy called upon the district authorities and elected representatives to plan Dasara celebration in a grand manner. Apart from regular colourful programmes, he also called upon the authorities and elected representatives to come out with some innovative and creative programmes. The High Power Committee for Dasara celebration is almost formed and will be announced in Bengaluru in a day or two.

During the meeting with most of the district elected representatives including Higher Education Minister G T Devegowda, Tourism Minister S R Mahesh and PWD Minister H D Revanna along with district authorities led by Deputy Commissioner Abhiram Sankar, the chief minister who was very happy with the rainfall in most of the places especially the catchment area of Cauvery basin, called upon the district authorities to chalk out attractive programmes for annual state Dasara festival. He assured of all sorts of support to the district administration in conducting Dasara event in a grand manner.

Speaking to Newskarnataka, Abhiram Sankar said, “On Wednesday, we had a preliminary meeting with Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy and other elected representatives including Higher Education Minister G T Devegowda and Tourism Minister S R Mahesh. During the meeting Chief Minister Kumaraswamy told us to do Dasara well this time. All the decisions related to Dasara will be taken only in the Higher Power Committee meeting which is headed by the chief minister. The committee will be formed in a day or two and decisions on the scale of Dasara, funds and who should inaugurate will be taken.

All pending bills to be cleared

“The process of clearing pending bills has begun. It’s just a matter of time. We have received an assurance from the authorities in Bengaluru. There will be no pending bills left out. All the pending bills will be cleared in another one week or ten days’ time”, added Abhiram Sankar.
