Mysuru: Along with some BJP leaders and his supporters, MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik on May 21, filed his nomination papers to contest from the South West Teachers’ Constituency for the teachers’ and graduates’ constituency elections to be held in the state.
Ganesh Karnik has filed his nomination with Regional Commissioner P Hemalatha in the Mysuru Regional Office. While filing his nomination, Karnik was accompanied by BJP leaders Monappa Bhandary, Prathap Simha, Shimoga district BJP General Secretary D S Arun and his brother Harish Karnik.
After filing his nomination, speaking to NewsKarnataka, Captain Ganesh Karnik said, “The South West Teachers’ Constituency consists of voters from five districts. Today I and Ayanur Manjunath, candidate for South-West Graduates’ Constituency have filed our nominations.”
Before filing the nominations, we conducted a public meeting in Mysuru for the voters of the South West Teachers’ Constituency and South-West Graduates’ Constituency. MPs from Mangaluru, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru and MLAs from 15 constituencies took part in the meeting, Captain Karnik added.
“The South West Teachers’ Constituency consists of 30 assembly constituencies, out of which 27 are in the fold of the BJP. The South-West Graduates’ Constituency has a positive atmosphere for the BJP.
“Voters will vote for me and the work that I have done in the last five years as MLC”, Karnik added.
