Mysuru: Athough automation has resulted in campus recruitment coming down in engineering colleges, it’s not the same at Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering as annual campus placements are significantly rising every year. The important feature of this corporate recruitment activity is that the companies started visiting a month in advance compared to earlier year. Overall 750 offers were made to 554 engineering students by 145 companies while MBA students have bagged 76 offers.

Speaking to Newskarnataka, Pradeep Manjunath, Placement Officer, SJCE said, “This year, JSS Science and Technology University attracted companies from FMCG, Pharma, Consultancy and Manufacturing sectors in addition to regular IT giants. They have visited the campus in full strength offering high pay packages for the selected students. The highest pay package offered this year is Rs 26 Lakhs per annum to three students by a major software company from Bengaluru. There is a significant increase in average pay from Rs 4.68 Lakh CTC to Rs 7.5 Lakh CTC per annum.”

The students have shown exceptional performance in the campus interviews since the university emphasises on imparting quality education, high end skill development and training apart from fine-tuned aptitude and technical skills for conceptual applications. The pay packages offered by the companies have shown a remarkable increase of 30 percent in offer this year. Another noticeable aspect this year is that over 100 students have been offered internships for six months converting them into full time job offer later. This year top notch companies such as Cisco, SAP, Intuit, Amazon, Mercedes Benz, Applied Materials, Texas Instruments, Netapp , Oracle, Accenture, Infosys, TCS, L & T group of companies, HCL, HDFC and public sector banks have visited.
