BSY knew about DKShi’s arrest, alleges Siddaramaiah

Mysuru: Continuing his attack on the BJP in connection to the arrest of Congress leader DK Shivakumar, former chief minister Siddaramaiah has said that the BJP is resorting to vendetta politics.
Speaking to reporters in Mysuru on Wednesday, Siddaramaiah said that there is no meaning to arresting an individual after four days of questioning.
Attacking Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa for his statement that he was unaware that DKShi would be arrested, Siddaramaiah said that BSY was clearly lying as it is impossible that the CM of Karnataka would be kept in dark about the developments.
“When they could not eke out answers from him in four days, what will they gain by arresting him? The intention behind the arrests (DKShi and Chidambaram) is to weaken the Congress. Chidambaram and DKShi may be two different individuals, but the motive behind their arrests is the same,” said Siddaramaiah adding that the ED has reportedly question DKShi as to why he had helped in moving the Gujarat MLAs to a resort in Bengaluru. “This means the money-laundering case is only a cover-up. The real reason behind this entire episode is political in nature,” he said stating that the Congress will stand by DK Shivakumar.
