Mysuru: BJP MLA S A Ramdas has said that the party will not use the infamous ‘Operation Lotus’ to secure the post of Mysuru City Corporation Mayor.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, January 16, he said, “The party is not making any efforts towards the implementation of ‘Operation Lotus’ to secure the Mayor's seat of the Mysuru City Corporation. We will continue as the Opposition party and will support positive politics. The future conduct of the party in the city corporation will be decided in a meeting that has been convened for January 17.”
“The Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) are continuing their alliance. Their members have been sent to a resort and are indulging in ‘resort politics’ due to their internal issues and not due to the fear of ‘Operation Lotus’. We will never indulge in such practices," he added.
Meanwhile, commenting on the current confusions in the BJP at the state level, regarding the Cabinet expansion, Ramdas said, “There are no confusions. Some of the newly-elected MLAs have expressed their desire for certain portfolios in the BJP government. According to me, there is nothing wrong in this. If decisions are taken with a calm mind, everything will be possible and everyone will stay united in the party. It is up to the party’s high command to take the final call on the Cabinet expansion.”
