Mysuru: While Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is all set to contest from the Chamundeshwari constituency of Mysuru, BJP President Amit Shah, MP from Uttar Pradesh Rajendra Agarwal and their team are planning to defeat him on his own turf.
Addressing a press conference here on March 16, Rajendra Agarwal said that defeating CM Siddaramaiah would be their main aim. Agarwal is the BJP In-charge of four constituencies including Chamundeshwari of Mysuru.
Rajendra Agarwal said that he had discussed various strategies to defeat Siddaramaiah with the other party members. After sufficient brainstorming, he hinted at the possibility of fielding a surprise candidate to contest from the BJP against Siddaramaiah in the upcoming elections.
In the past, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had contested from the Chamundeshwari constituency 5 times and later contested from the Varuna constituency. Now, he has chosen to return to the Chamundeshwari constituency. It looks like this is going to be a matter of prestige for the CM and the BJP.
