Mysuru: Former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Monday said that few BJP leaders were behind the murder of Deepak Rao in Katipalla.
Speaking to reporters here in Mysuru HDK said, “I have received a crucial information regarding recent killing of Deepak Rao in Katipalla. It is learnt that few BJP leaders are behind this case. Though police have arrested four persons, I have serious doubts on the investigation and the government is hiding the truth.”
Continuing his attack against the BJP, HDK said, “During the last rites of Deepak Rao, the BJP wanted to hold procession and politicise the murder. Whereas in the case of Basheer, muslims maintained peace. Though the killers of Deepak Rao were muslims, they were caught by the muslims.”
HDK further alleged that in all the cases of Gauri Lankesh, Deepak Rao and Basheer the state government has failed and there seems to be a secret pact between the BJP and the Congress. He demanded for an impartial probe into the case.
Basheer was attacked by right wing activists on January 3 as vengeance against the murder of 32-year-old Deepak Rao in Katipalla.
