Mysuru: “Becoming global citizens is need of the hour but at the same time we should learn to keep Indian identity,” said Yaduveer Wadiyar.

Speaking during the Cross Chapter Meet of Young Indians organised by Young Indians of Mysuru Chapter at Mysore Sports Club on July 22, he said, “The majority of India is young. The funny thing is we are often stuck at this crossroad with a lot of older people who have been the incumbents. We are trying to push ahead and come and lead the way. I think the greatest problem of old India is the global citizenship has not come into play. The need of the hour is we should become the global citizens and at the same time, we should keep our identity. An identity on the global platform will help us a lot. It will help us eradicate many of the issues. At the same time, right education will also give an overall improvement in the country. Apart from all this, we youngsters should also give prime importance to protecting our environment.”

After addressing Young Indian members who had come from across South India including Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Tirpur and Erode, he had an interaction with them. During the interaction, the members posed various questions including history of Mysuru Palace, about life of modern Maharaja and how was he going to decide and give importance to programmes and about his interest towards politics.

Politics not now:

When one of the Young Indian members wanted to know when was is he going to enter politics he said, “When I was just 23 years old, I took up the responsibility and from then on its just three years. Its tough to see me jumping into politics. Three years are not enough to get exposure in politics. As of now, politics has never even entered my mind and so, no to politics. Public life is new to me. Though I want to be a part of the change, I have not decided to enter politics now”, added Yaduveer who is just 26 years now.

Young Indians Mysore Chapter Chair Ravishankar D, Laeeq Ali from Bangalore Chapter, Sudhan from Tirpur Chapter, Senthil Kumar from Erode Chapter and Dipender Singh from Coimbatore Chapter along with their members were present in the discussion.
