Mysuru: At last the Kachiguda Express has been extended to Mysuru. It was a long pending demand of the people of Mysuru and Hyderabad. Once it is operational on a weekly and biweekly basis, it will be the 33rd train from Mysuru to Bengaluru.
This more than 10 years long demand at last, has been fulfilled with the intervention of Member of Parliament Pratap Simha. Though the extension is approved by the railway authorities it will be functional only after sometime. Speaking to Newskarnataka, Pratap Simha said, “The demand that was pending since almost 15 years has now become a reality. I will try my level best to make it operational by the end of this month.”
Mohammed Imran Azeez, Mysorean who works in an IT company in Hyderabad was elated after coming to know of the extension of Kachiguda Express to Mysuru. He said, “Though we have a connecting train from Mysuru to catch Kachiguda Express in Bengaluru, it was very difficult particularly for the aged people, women and children as they were forced to carry luggage to other platforms. Now with the extension of this train to Mysuru all of them are relieved. Apart from this it also cuts down the cost of travel. If we want to go to Kachiguda in a luxury bus we need to pay nearly Rs 1500 but by train it will be not more than Rs 500.” His wife Dr. Umme Hani who is also from Mysuru is happy.
Once it is operational, it will depart Ashokapuram railway station at 2.05 PM and reach Mysuru railway station at 2.20 PM. After nearly 25 minutes stoppage at Mysuru railway station it will depart to Bengaluru at 2.45 PM and reach Bengaluru at 5.45 PM. Later, it will depart to Kachiguda at 6.20 PM and reach Kachiguda at 5.40 AM. The train will depart Kachiguda at 7.05 PM and reach Bengaluru at 6.25 AM and depart Bengaluru at 6.40 AM and reach Mysuru at 9.40 AM before departing for Ashokapuram at 9.50 AM and reaching here at 10.05 AM.
