Mysuru: All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) is celebrating ‘Open Day’ on September 20. For the first time, on Thursday the parents and family members of AIISH will be invited to the institute to brief them about various programs which are being held at the institute.
On Friday, the institute is open to college students and General Public from 9.30 am to 4.30pm. The aim of the ‘Open Day’ is to educate and expose the public and the young minds to the issues related to communication and its disorders. On this day, an exhibition has been arranged at ‘Knowledge Park’ of the institute, to educate college students and visitors on the hearing mechanism, speech production, prevention and management of communication disorders, harmful effects of noise and vocal hygiene.
Speaking to Newskarnataka.com Dr M Pushpavathi, Director of AIISH said, “After going seeing the facilities, treatment and children, the people will definitely come to know what exactly we are doing in the institute”. Pushpavathi also called upon the public to make use of open day to know more about the institute.
“Apart from this, we are also planning to have short movies” added Pushpavathi.
