AIISH observes ‘Hindi Week’

Mysuru: The All India Institute of Speech & Hearing, Mysuru had recently conducted the ‘Hindi Week’at its premises for its employees.

Various Hindi competitions for staff and JRFs under two categories viz., Region A, B and C were arranged. Noting & Drafting, Dictation, General Knowledge, Oral Quiz and Pick-N-Speak competitions in Hindi were held. A drama was performed on the theme ‘Communication & Its Disorders’ in which graduates, post-graduates and diploma students of the institute also took part.

For the valedictory function, Dr. Pankaj Dwivedi, Secretary, TOLIC, Mysore was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Hindi is the second largest spoken language in the World. He expressed that AIISH is not only theoretical but has also been practical in the use of official language Hindi.”

Dr. S Venkatesan, Director In-charge, congratulating the winners, said that Hindi played a vital role in uniting the community as a whole. Dr. S Ramkumar, Chief Administrative Officer, spoke on the compliance of all the Constitutional provisions on the use of official language Hindi.

Dr. H P Uma Saraswathi, Hindi translator and coordinator of the programme presented the report on Official Language Implementation for the year 2018.
