Pandavpura: Unable to repay the loans, a farmers’ family committed suicide in Sunkatannuru of Pandavapura town on September 22.

The deceased are Nandeesh (35), Komala (28), Manu (13) and Chandan (10).

The couple had eaten chicken kebab laced with poison and had given the same to two of their children.

Including hand loans, the farmers family had borrowed around Rs 15 Lakh from various banks. The loan lenders had begun exerting pressure on the farmer to repay the loan. Depressed by this, the whole family has surrendered to death.

‘The main reason for our death is Agriculture’
In the letter written to Chief Minister Kumaraswamy it is mentioned, “You know my situation. We are not cowards to surrender to death. Even after rigorous attempts, we have failed miserably and that’s the reason for this decision. Please do not touch our mortal remains, and handover our remains to the corporation. This is our last wish. To all of our death, agriculture is the prime reason.”
