Mysuru: Congress National President, Rahul Gandhi will be visiting three districts in Mysuru region as part of the “Janashirvad Yatra” from March 24, considered to be the stronghold of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Rahul will be taking part in road shows and addressing public meetings in Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts during the two-day tour.
Rahul will arrive at Mandakali Airport at 9 AM on March 24 and move to Chamundi Hills immediately, where he is likely to offer prayers to deity Chamundeshwari.
Later, he will interact (Samvada) with the girls from Maharani Science College at 10.15 AM before proceeding to Chamarajanagar in the afternoon. He is scheduled to address public meetings at Ambedkar Stadium in Chamarajanagar and Santhemarahalli, Yelandur, Kollegal and Malavalli towns before returning to Mysuru.
He will be staying at Mysore overnight and is scheduled to meet the block presidents and senior leaders of Congress at the Government Guest House, the next morning. He will be returning to the city after taking part in road shows at K R Pet, Pandavapura and Srirangapatna in Mandya district.
The Rahul Gandhi Road Show in the heritage city will begin at 4 PM from Basaveshwara Circle and culminate at Maharaja College grounds where a massive convention is planned at 5 PM on Sunday, March 25.
7 JDS rebels to join Congress on March 25
The seven rebel JDS MLAs are likely to join the Congress party in the presence of its President Rahul Gandhi during the massive party convention at Maharaja College grounds in Mysuru. The rebel leaders Cheluvarayaswamy and Zameel Ahmed announced their decision to join Congress, while casting their ballot during RS elections in the state capital.
“We showed our ballot paper to the JDS polling agent before exercising our franchise, they said, refusing to divulge their choice of RS candidates.
All the 7 MLAs are likely to submit their resignations to the speaker latest by tomorrow morning before jumping into Congress bandwagon to test their fortunes in the forthcoming State Assembly polls.
