“Nrityaangan”, an illustrious dance school established in 2011 strives at training young dancers with a passion and  focuses on excellence in grace and precision, a hallmark of the beautiful art form,Bharatanatyam.Mrs. RadhikaShetty , a graceful replica of the dance form itself has ignited a passion for dance among little children, thus  carrying forth the tradition of this ever loved art form. In hosting Mrs. SavithaSastry, Director ofSai Shree Arts , Delhi, Mrs. RadhikaShetty will be further strengthening our ties with classical tradition.
Awakening Mangalore to the need of the hour!

Mrs. SavithaSastry will be dancing a piece, “YUDH”, an original production created by A.K. Srikanth showcasing – Three perspectives, One Truth (2013) – Many a time in our life we see perfectly good and innocent people face hardships beyond belief. Innocent children fall victim to cruelty which leaves us wondering if there is any divine justice. In YUDH we focus on such an incident and look at it through three perspectives, those of humans, God, and Satan.

Each perspective offers a logical end in itself. We can all go back with answers, all of them valid, but perhaps completely different. YUDH is not a story that ties in with any religion, nor does it refute any. What we have is a stimulating experience which is brought to life with a clarity that perhaps no classical art form can deliver as Bharathanatyam can!The music scored by the famous Chennai based composer RajkumarBharathi consists of extremely innovative compositions.

The music of YUDH, while strictly based on Indian ragas, would leave the audience in wonder when they find that the sound track has such an international feel to it. Indian classical music can sound Carnatic, Chinese, or Arabic, without a note deviating from the raga as it should be! Rajkumar has used a plethora of instruments to reach this level; the audience would also find the use of Zitar, Oudh, Viola along with traditional instruments.

Mrs. SavithaSastry,Director of Sai Shree Arts, is a pioneer in using the medium of Bharathanatyam to create new presentations that allow the viewer to be connected with it through the journey of dance. She is known for keeping an audience spell bound with performances that embody perfection in form and expression, an intelligent fusion that comes from years of rigorous training, dedicated practice, and passion.

Savitha’s dance narrates stories authored by her husband and writer AK Srikanth, and this duo has struck a chord with audiences across the world in being able to convey deeply philosophical thought with striking simplicity, elan, and elegance. While this has garnered new and uninitiated audiences for Bharathanatyam and Savitha, the erudite have appreciated Savitha’s initiative in using the age old tradition of Bharathanatyam in a novel and compelling manner.

Sai Shree Arts endeavors to present shows that stretch the very boundaries of what is possible to do with a ‘classical’ dance form thereby redefining the ‘classical’ and charting new course for future generations to follow. The training wing of Sai Shree Arts is dedicated to imparting a real education in Bharathanatyam to students with a view of developing leaders and pioneers in this field who can be the torch bearers for change and evolution.
