Thumbe (Dakshina Kannada): A youth from Thumbe tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on Saturday, April 4.
Occupants of every household in the village have been asked to remain in quarantine.
It is learnt that the youth had been to New Delhi on some personal work and had reached Nizamuddin to board a train on March 21.
The authorities sent his throat swabs after the Tablighi Jamaat episode took place.
His results came back positive on Saturday. Official confirmation of the same is awaited.
Security has been beefed up in the village and officials are making efforts to keep the entire village in quarantine.
