Mangaluru: The District Youth Congress has urged the city police commissioner to ensure that persons behind the killings of Deepak Rao and Basheer are brought to books at the earliest.
Youth Congress President Mithun Rai, in a press meet said that two innocent individuals who had no affiliation to any organization lost their lives recently. Many such instances had taken place in the past as well which has dented the image of the district which was known for its communal harmony. “There is an immediate need to nab the persons spreading hatred,” he said asking the legal fraternity of the district to not take up the cases of the accused in both the Rao and Basheer murder case.
Rai said that they would be visiting the local lawyers’ association and ask them not to fight the cases of the accused. Condemning the murders, he asked that the tragedies not be politicised.
