Mangaluru: “Yoga has been known as a holistic medium to achieve health and wellbeing. The Covid 19 pandemic has further put the spotlight on the myriad benefits of yoga,” said Prof. P Subramanya Yadapadittaya Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore University.
Speaking on the occasion of International Yoga Day, he said that physical well-being, mental-intellectual health, and spiritual thinking are essential to our well-being. Yoga will keep us away from diseases,” he added.
Resource Person, Dr. Krishna K Sharma, Professor and Head of the Department of Human Consciousness and Yoga Sciences at Mangalore University said, Yoga unites our body, mind, and soul.
Dr. Anasuya Rai presented a welcome address. Sushmita Shetty of the Department of Yoga gave a demonstration on Yoga and Umanath K demonstrated Meditation. G V Shetty and Prithvinarayan Bhat performed yoga postures. Prof. Dr. Ajitesh NH hosted the program. Senior professors and students were present.
