Mangaluru: A total of eight Yakshagana artists from Dakshina Kannada district will perform in 12 states of the USA from June 29 onwards, for a period of two months.
These Yakshagana artists of ‘Yaksha Dhruva’ will attend the inaugural programme of 34th unit of ‘Yaksha Dhruva Patla Foundation’, at Puttige Mutt in New Jersey, on June 29. After this inaugural programme, Yakshagana artists will stage Yakshgana performance in 12 states of the USA, until September 3. During two months long period, different Yakshagana prasangas like ‘Sudarshana Vijaya’, Krishna Leele Kamsa Vadhe, Mahisha Mardhini, Narakaasura Vadhe, Shrinivasa Kalyana, among others will be staged.
The founder of Yaksha Dhruva Foundation Patla Sathish Shetty informed that along with the Yakshagana performance, senior Yakshagana artist M L Samaga will train the budding students of Yakshagana in USA. All Yakshagana artists would also perform during the ‘Navika Vishwa Kannada Sammelana’, on September 1, 2019 at USA.
