Mangaluru: Members of the Women India Movement staged a massive protest against the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in city on Saturday, January 11.

The protesters raised slogans denouncing the newly enacted law and urged that the law be scrapped. Protestors were seen carrying placards that read, ‘Stop diving India, Boycott CAA, NRC, NPR’, ‘We are humans, not criminals’, ‘Save India from fascism’ etc.

The protesters claimed that they maintained peace when the triple talaq law, abrogation of Article 370 and Ayodhya verdict were announced, but they cannot keep quiet in this case as it is a question of the Constitution.

“The Central government is trying to make India a Hindu Rashtra by wiping out all other communities. This fascist government is trying to poison the minds of the Hindus against Muslims,” a protester stressed.
