Puttur: A woman married only some months ago is reported to have gone missing from the night of September 18. Afreena (19) is the missing woman.

Sullia resident Ashfaq’s daughter Afreena had married Ashraf from Harady, Puttur town. The couple was found to be living happily together for quite sometime. In the later stages when petty fights ensued between the couple, Afreena felt offended and stayed in a separate room in the house.

On the night of September 18, the couple had food at home and switched to sleep. At around 11.45 PM when Fayaz woke up, he found Afreena missing. The family members had a thorough search in each of the room and the surrounding of the house. There was no trace of her. When inquired at her resident in Sullia, they too seemed unaware of Afreena’s whereabouts. Ashraf immediately called up to the Women Police Station of Puttur and filed a missing complaint.

According to the complaint, Afreena, while leaving has taken away Rs 13000 cash and 12 grams of gold. Investigation is in progress.
