Mangaluru: In a tragic incident, a 26-year-old woman committed suicide in her apartment at Kadri on Saturday, October 13.
The deceased has been identified as Ashwini Shetty, a resident of Beltangady, who was working for a finance company in the city till she quit two months ago. It is said that an issue in relating to her future marriage led her to take the extreme step. According to police sources, the woman’s parents wanted to get her married to a person who was known to them. They had planned to get the two engaged when they found out that Ashwini was in a secret relationship with another man. Raged by the secret, her parents reportedly took her to task on Friday. It is said that Ashwini was very depressed after the incident and on Saturday noon, she was found hanging in her room, sources said.
Kadri police have registered a case are investigating the incident.
