Mangaluru: The badges for the Episcopal Ordination programme was unveiled by MLA Vedavyas Kamath, on Sunday, September 2 at Rosario Cultural Hall. These badges will be worn on September 15, during the installation programme of the new Bishop of the Mangalore Diocese.
Addressing the volunteers, he said that the volunteers were indeed fortunate to work for such a historic event.
“It’s when we commit sins that we go to priests. They have the ways to release us from those doings, but then when we commit mistakes against the priests there is no pardon,” he said, calling upon each and every volunteer to work hard for the success of the event.
While promising full support and co-operation for the event, he wished well to both the new Bishop and the outgoing Bishop.
The Bishop appreciated the goodwill of the MLA and said, “You are ours and we are yours. The MLA has said that he will do what is expected of him and this should be the attitude of every volunteer too as the success of the event depends on them.”
He also told the volunteers that their service will be rewarded by the God and Our Lady of Rosary.
After the formal programme, the concern persons gave instructions and guidelines to volunteers. At least 650 volunteers will be toiling for the mega event.
Most Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D Souza, the Apostolic Administrator, Fr J B Crasta, Chief Coordinator, Fr Rupesh Madtha, Sushil Noronha among others were present on the dais.
Fr Victor Vijay Lobo, PRO of the diocese, Joylus D Souza, BJP District Minority President Gladwin H D Silva, BJP Minority Cell President, Mangalore City South Mr Lateef Cooperator, the conveners and members of various committees were present.
Fr J B Crasta led the prayer, Sushil Noronha welcomed the gathering, Fr Rupesh Madtha proposed a vote of thanks, Fr Flavian Lobo compeered the programme.
