Vipul Kumar takes charge as Mangaluru City Police Commissioner

Mangaluru: IPS officer Vipul Kumar took charge as the new Mangaluru City Police Commissioner on April 18.

The outgoing commissioner T R Suresh welcomed the new Commissioner and handed over all the relevant documents to him at the Commissioner’s Office in the city.

Vipul Kumar, a 1999 batch IPS officer is serving as IGP and Director of Karnataka Police Academy has been given the additional responsibility of Mangaluru City Commissioner with immediate effect as per the orders issued.

T R Suresh, a 2003 batch IPS officer had taken charge as the police commissioner of Mangaluru city on June 12, 2017. During his service in the city, Suresh was also honoured with the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service.
