Mangaluru: Speaking to the media on Tuesday, April 6, U T Khader said that Violent online games like PUBG will turn youths violent. “The PUBG game led to the murder of a minor at KC Road. They will even resort to stealing money from their parents to invest in such games. They will eventually do substance abuse as well and that is when we can see behavioural changes in children,” he said.

Khader said that a long term system must be put into place with the help of society, school teachers, concerned department and representatives to avert such tragedies.

He stated that the law and order situation has worsened in the district, soon a review meeting has to be called. “People are afraid to stay at home as burglary is on the rise. Police should act immediately, it is a failure on the part of the police department. Lately, without any fear of the law, cases of moral policing are being reported,” he added.

Speaking abou the state special executive meeting, he said, “they spoke about bringing in law against love jihad. But, after the gram panchayat elections, the matter never came up. On the other hand, Hindu organizations are conducting press conferences where they are instigating the youths to create disturbances. Police need to take strict action against them.”

Kahder said that if they are keen to voice against something, they should do so against the government and demand to bring in a law against love jihad.
