Mangaluru: A group of persons in the city have alleged that a person identified as Mohommed Panakaje has been extorting and threatening gullible people by creating their fake social media accounts.

Riyaz, a resident of Kannur has said that Panakaje is said to be connected with the notorious ‘Mangalore Muslims’ facebook page, which has been posting derogatory posts on Hindu Gods and Goddesses.

“Panakaje creates fake accounts in the names of his targets and uploads morphed images of Gods, Goddesses, Jesus and Masjids on social media. Later, he takes the screenshots of that images and sends it to other whatsapp groups in order to tarnish their image. It will definitely create communal violence in the future,” he said adding that his sister Anisha and her husband Sarfaz are the victims of the blackmail by Mohommed Panakaje and his team members like Adam of Beltangady, Zubair Salafi of Chokkabettu and Abdul Wahab of Kulai.

“Mohammed Panakaje had created a fake account in social media and uploaded porn images on it. Later, he made allegation on Sarfaz, husband of my sister Anisha. We also observed that Mohammed Panakaje has more than 30 mobile phone numbers through which he threatens people of both Hindu and Christian community,” he said and added that a case has been registered at the cyber police station in this regard and all documents pertaining to the case have already been furnished.

Girish Gatti, another victim of Panakaje’s vicious plan said that Panakaje and his team had blackmailed him and threatened him alleging that he had defamed the Muslim religion and Muslim girls.

Victim Mohammed Ujire, who was working abroad for nearly three decades informed that he was a government servant in the foreign country earning Rs 4 lakh per month. “But, I lost my job and had to go behind bars for the hidden plan of Mohammed Panakaje. Police should arrest him and his associates at the earliest to ensure no people would fall victims to such individuals”, he stressed.
