Mangaluru: VIBGYOR Group of Schools, India’s leading chain of K-12 schools offering a unique educational experience, organised a session on Mind Mapping by the Mind Trainer and Success Coach Dr. Surfraz J. Hashim here on Saturday, February 16.
About 80 children and parents participated in the two-hour long session.
Dr. Surfraz gave tips on how to manage stress, beat exam stress and stay focused using effective mind mapping techniques. The session helped the participants to overcome phobias, rejections, failures, to enhance leadership skills, increase concentration, boost confidence, eliminate negative thoughts, release negative emotions, eliminate stress, boost immune system, develop positive state of mind, achieve greater success, enhance learning abilities, improve memory power, and much more.
Talking about mind mapping, Dr. Surfraz said, “Mind is like a farmland. To bring out good results, one should purify the mind and plant seeds of goodness. This programme will help children to visualise the goals they desire and achieve it within minimum time. Some of the highly effective techniques are taught today, which will help the children to eliminate negative thoughts, attitude and behaviour that lead to failure in life. Not only this, children also learnt to reorient the objectives as per their values, abilities and aptitude to design a successful life and career”.
Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Kusum D’Sa, Principal, VIBGYOR Roots Rise, Mangaluru said, “Two most important skills that we need to gift our children today is to accept failures and handle stress in a positive manner. Among the 4 tested attributes; Knowledge, skills, attitude and behaviour, it’s the last two that makes an individual successful. Knowledge and skills can be taught while attitude and behaviour is imbibed. This session on Mind Mapping taught children the self-management of negativity and rejections.”
