Mangaluru: A total of 18 achievers from different fields including V4s Lakshman Kunder, John Chandran among others have been selected for this year’s district level Rajyotsava awards.
The Dakshina Kannada district administration has listed the awardees as Kumar Pernaje (Agriculture), Shekhar Bhandary (Literature), Bondala Sachidananda Shetty (Education), P M Hasanabba Moodbidri (Music), Dinakar Indaje (Journalism), Lakshman Kunder (Journalism), Vidwan Shravan Ullal (Dance), Nagesh A (Sports), Mohammed Shamil Arshad (Sports), John Chandran (Fine Arts), Sadashiva Amin (Fine Arts), Chandrashekhar Nanil (Social Service), Dr. I Shashikanth Jain (Social Service), Shankar B Shetty Virar (Social Service), Kurnad Shivanna Acharya (Folk), Gopal Shibaroor (Folk), Dr. Dinesh Kadam (Medicine) and Dr. Manorama Rao (Medicine).
Meanwhile, seven associations namely Thekkil Rural Development Foundation, Aranthodu, Sullia, Billawa Seva Samaja, Kankanady Garodi, Matha Amruthanandamayi Seva Samithi, Sultan Batteri, Kadri Nrithya Vidyanilaya Charitable Trust, Kadri, Thannirbavi Swimming Experts, Primary Cooperative Association of Machine Boat Fisheries and Mother Theresa’s Home for the Dying Destitute, Falnir were selected for the award, considering their social service.
The award will be conferred during the Kannada Rajyotsava celebration at Nehru Maidan on Thursday, November 1, the press release said
