Mangaluru: MLA and former minister U T Khader, commenting on the recent bomb scare at the Mangalur International Airport, suspected the involvement of anti-social elements, along with Adithya Rao, who recently surrendered himself to Bengaluru police in this connection.
Addressing the mediapersons at the Circuit House on Wednesday, January 22, Khader said, “As the suspect is already in police custody, blame should not be assigned to one community for terror-like activities. After the accused landed in police custody, some BJP leaders have been trying to safeguard him by claiming that he might be mentally ill. If so, how was he able to place a bomb at MIA even though there was proper security? How did think of hiding his face from the camera by wearing a hat and how did he disappear from the place? Some others, who want to create friction between two religions, are also involved in this incident. The Government should find the persons who were indirectly involved.”
Meanwhile, Khader informed that the state government has failed to maintain law and order in the state. Calling the incident a serious issue, Khader said that the intelligence wing failed to catch the bomber even after he successfully placed a bomb at MIA and reached Bengaluru.
Prahlad Joshi should apologise to the public
Coming down heavily on Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Prahlad Joshi for blaming anti-CAA protesters for the bomb scare, Khader said, “Since it has been proven that anti-CAA protesters were involved in the incident, Prahlad Joshi must make a public apology for his irresponsible statement.”
