Mangaluru: “The leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party have succeeded in toppling the coalition government after multiple attempts. However, if they give a stable and pro-people governance, the Congress party is ready to extend its support”, said MLA and former minister U T Khader here on Wednesday, July 24.

Addressing the reporters at Circuit House, Khader said, “Power is not permanent. I was ready to sacrifice my portfolio for the sake of the party and the coalition government. Though there were some misunderstandings between the leaders, they were further compounded by the hidden agenda of BJP leaders. I heard that BJP had spent over Rs 1000 Crore to topple the government. Let us wait for three months. The disgruntled MLAs would reveal it to the people for sure”.

Meanwhile, Khader alleged that the union government was trying to weaken the Right To Information (RTI) Act, which was introduced during the UPA regime. Everyone should oppose this move by the central government and insist on not weakening it. As the RTI Act has enabled transparent governance, it should remain untouched”, he said.

Khader thanked all for extending cooperation to him and enabling him to deliver good work as a minister. ” I have tried my level best to check illegal sand mining, skill games, shady massage centres among others. It was possible only due to proper cooperation by the public and officials “, he said.

Leaders Ishwar Ullal, Sadashiv Ullal, Mohammed Kareem among others were present.
