Uppala accident toll rises to six with death of infant

Kasargod: The toll in the Uppala accident, where five people were killed, went upto six on Tuesday, July 10 with the death of a one-year-old child who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city.
 
The deceased has been identified as Fathima, daughter of deceased Naseema. 
 
It may be recalled that on Monday, July 9, five persons – Bhifathima (65), Asma (30) Naseema (38), Mustak (41) and Imtiyaz(35), all residents of KC Road Talapady were killed and seven were critically injured after a speeding lorry  rammed into their jeep in Nayabazar Uppala. The accident took place when their jeep was on its way to Mangaluru from Palakkad. Four people died on the spot, while one died on the way to the hospital.
