Mangaluru: State Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader retorted at the controversial remarks made by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Ravikumar at a press conference held here on March 11 at the Circuit House.
Addressing the media, Khader said, “People know us well. We don’t need his certificate.”
He also remarked that Ravikumar had no moral right to criticise Karnataka’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
“For the sake of power, the BJP will go to any extent. They formed an alliance with the extremist Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jammu and Kashmir. If the BJP is so patriotic, then they should let go of the administration in Kashmir”, he challenged. He also alleged that the BJP had supported extremists in Nagaland and Tripura.
He also accused the BJP leaders of conspiring to polarise the communities as they were sure about the Congress party retaining power in Karnataka. “I ask that the BJP not to disturb the peace for the sake of votes”, he added.
It may be recalled that Ravikumar had branded Khader and District In-charge Minister Ramanath Rai to be “no less than terrorists” while addressing a gathering at the state committee meeting of the BJP Law and Parliamentary Affairs Cell.
