Two SDPI activists arrested for hindering ASHA worker from performing duties

sdpi asha 11042020Mangaluru: Two persons were arrested on Saturday, April 11, for allegedly intimidating and obstructing an ASHA worker from discharging her duties assigned to her by the health department.

The arrested accused have been identified as Ismail (45), son of Ibrahim, and Ashraf (32), son of Azam. Both are the residents of Mallur, Badriya Nagar.

Sources from the police department informed that Ismail and Ashraf intimidated a 45-year-old ASHA worker as she was performing her official duties. It is alleged that both the accused obstructed, threatened and prevented ASHA worker.

A case has been registered at the Mangaluru Rural police station in this regard and an investigation is underway.
